If you upload a statement
- 1. We read it. The file is parsed on our servers into dated transactions: amount, currency, description and account. Files you upload are deleted as soon as they are read; only the transactions or trades in them are kept.
- 2. Nothing counts twice. The same file, or a statement that overlaps one you uploaded before, is recognised: transactions already there are skipped.
- 3. We convert it. Amounts are shown in EUR and INR using the official ECB reference rate for each day.
- 4. Only you see it. Your data is visible only to your account, enforced by the database. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
Your investments: enter them by hand, or import a statement soon
- Enter them by hand. Add an account for each place you hold money and what is in it: units, value and the date the value is from. This works for every kind:
- fixed deposits (NRE, NRO or German), with rate and maturity
- PPF and EPF balances
- Sovereign Gold Bonds
- funds, shares and ETFs at a broker in India, Germany or elsewhere
- crypto
- property, at your own estimate
- anything else, with a value and a date
- Every value has a date. inWst fetches no prices: every value is as of a date, the date of your statement or of your entry. When a new statement comes, update the value and the date. A flat or a house counts at your own estimate. Holdings in euros, rupees or US dollars are converted with the ECB reference rate, shown with the rate's date.
- Imports, coming soon.
- The consolidated account statement (CAS) for Indian mutual funds, from CAMS or KFintech (PDF): your funds, the units you hold, the NAV and its date, and the purchases and redemptions. Coming soon.
- The Zerodha holdings file (CSV): the shares, ETFs and gold bonds in your demat account, with quantity, average price and the closing price the file gives. Coming soon.
As with statements, the file is deleted after reading; only the holdings and transactions are kept.
- Other brokers and exchanges. For Scalable Capital, Trade Republic, Interactive Brokers or a crypto exchange, enter them by hand for now. In the app you can ask for an import; the requests decide which comes next.
