Accounts in both countries
A Girokonto, a depot and a pension in Germany. NRE and NRO accounts, demat and mutual funds in India.
Two currencies
Every move in the euro–rupee rate changes what your Indian savings are worth in euros, and what a transfer home costs.
Two tax systems
The German tax return, Indian income such as NRO interest, and a tax treaty between the two countries.
Hidden costs
Forex markups on transfers, account charges in India, card and fund fees that nobody adds up for you.
Most of us piece it together from forums. inWst explains it, one step at a time.
Learn it free, one track at a time.

Questions
Do I need an account to learn?
No. The lessons, the Money Health Check and the calculators are free and need no account. The Health Check and the calculators run in your browser.
Which banks can I upload?
Today inWst reads statements from ING, HypoVereinsbank and Advanzia in Germany, and from HDFC Bank and Axis Bank in India. More banks and brokers are being added; tell us yours when you join.
Do NRE and NRO accounts work?
If your bank is supported, NRE and NRO statements are read like any other Indian bank statement, and they show up in your income and spending in rupees and euros. We don't advise on which account to use.
Does inWst do my German tax return or my ITR?
Not yet — the Steuer-Paket Indien (pre-orders in January) prepares the Indian income in your German tax return from your own documents: which form and section each item generally belongs in, with the rules and their sources. You or your Steuerberater still file the return, and inWst doesn't file an Indian ITR. For your own situation, talk to a Steuerberater or a chartered accountant.
Do I have to connect my bank?
No. You upload statements you download yourself. We never ask for bank passwords or broker logins.
Where is my data stored?
In Germany. Every connection to inWst is encrypted. See our privacy promise.
What does it cost?
Free during the beta. The first 1,000 people who confirm their email get founding-member perks. The pricing page has the details.
