How this works

A round trip is one buy and one sell of the same quantity, so brokerage is charged on two orders. Turnover is the buy value plus the sell value (for options, the premium).

  • STT: delivery 0.1% on buy and sell; intraday 0.025% on sell; futures 0.05% on sell; options 0.15% of the premium on sell. Rounded to the rupee.
  • Exchange transaction charges (NSE): 0.00307% of turnover for equity, 0.00183% for futures, 0.03553% of the premium for options, including the NSE investor protection fund contribution.
  • SEBI turnover fee: ₹10 per crore of turnover.
  • Stamp duty (buy side): delivery 0.015%, intraday 0.003%, futures 0.002%, options 0.003%. Rounded to the rupee.
  • GST: 18% of brokerage, exchange charges and the SEBI fee.

Options exercised at expiry pay STT on the intrinsic value instead, and BSE charges differ; this calculator covers NSE trades closed before expiry. Your contract note shows the exact amounts your broker charged.

Rates checked 24 September 2026. Sources: Securities transaction tax rates (Finance Act 2026; F&O rates in force since 1 April 2026); NSE circulars on transaction charges and the IPFT contribution.
